Saint Joseph, Pillar of Families

I didn't use to pray novenas.  I always thought that praying directly to God was better.  But I read this passage from the Bible: "The continual prayer of a just man availeth much." - James 5:16 I thought of the matter more and now I see that novenas are a humble way of praying.  It is asking those closest to Jesus (and holiest) people who walked the earth, to pray for me. This is not a new way of doing things as Moses intervened for the Jews when God wanted to punish them for making a bull with their own hands and started worshipping them. I now think God is pleased whenever I pray a novena.    Since then, I have seen so many SIGNS AND WONDERS in myself and in my circumstances because I prayed a novena.   I credit Saint Joseph for my happy home life and also for helping us with our finances though the best thing for me is the way novenas help us to lead holy lives.  The saints want no applause but rather, they will always draw us closer to God.   Instead of idolizing cel

Be Kind to One Another and other Reflections

Sharing with you some sketches I made these past few days.

In the morning I spend some time in prayer and meditation on the Bible.

Doing this gives me the strength, peace and joy I need for the day.

When I encounter difficult situations I remember the story of the man who was told by God to push mountains.  He pushed and pushed every day, but then as time passed, he noticed the mountain was still in the same place.

He asked God why and God told him to look instead to look at his arms, much stronger and muscled than before.

Sometimes God won't move mountains to build our spiritual muscles.

After several days of torrential rain this past week, most of Manila was flooded.

More than half a million people were affected,
some rescued from their rooftops, others stranded without food in their homes.  I thank God that my family and friends are all safe but we need to reach out to those who have lost so much in this calamity.

Usually, Filipinos shun the sunshine for excessive exposure but when finally the sun came out, we were exultant!

One of today's Sunday readings is from Ephesians.
It reminded me to be kind always.  Be kind to those who think differently, act differently, do things differently.

"Without kindness, there can be no true joy" - Thomas Carlyle

UPDATE:  Some of you have asked me how to have the Be Kind on a print or a product.  You can check it out here.

Thanks for visiting!

  5. On your picture of Be Kind to one Another ...it was circulating from White Bear Lake United Methodist Church. Would love a good clean copy of your art. It is kind of pixely if I copy & print. Do you sell this art?

1)Are you still offering it for sale as a 11"x11" on wood?
2)Is it possible to get a high resolution image instead so that I can print as a canvas??
