An amazing woman is Blessed Mother Mary.
Many times when I am confused what best to do, i think "What would Jesus do?" then sometimes the situation could only happen to a woman. That's when "What would Mary do?" comes in.
She is truly a grace-filled woman that at the age of 14 she could give herself up totally to Gods plan. To entrust your whole future despite probable shame, alienation by everyone, maybe even stoning, is just wow!
It reminds me that if God sends you to it, He will bring you through it. Mary was found pleasing by God in her response. She was blessed by this response and so are we.
Mary, at the time of her "yes" to God could not have known the impact of her response to humankind. Sometimes we think that our choices and actions mean little but i reality they can not just affect you but others in a major way.
Happy birthday today Mama Mary! Thank you for your womanly example of discipleship and great faith. May more and more woman in today's world follow in your steps and draw nearer to the heart of God!

Just sharing with you a couple of my doodles this past week.
When I read this passage, I remembered the verse from Deuteronomy...
"Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!" (Deuteronomy 30:19)
The choices we make determine what we and our children will experience in life.
With obedience comes blessing!
I choose life!
This is something that just came to my mind. It's useful for those
times when we don't know why things happen the way they do.
We must always remember that God is in control and is constantly looking
for ways to bless us!
This is a great passage as it calls forth our deepest faith in God and our most fervent love for Him.
To try and do something again and again, fail and have God tell you to try again
is difficult BUT if He says do it, then again, blessing will most certainly ensue.
We need to focus on the Lord of the seas, rather than on the catch or
we will not have the abundant results we long for.
We have to trust that His ways are best though beyond our understanding.
We had a power outage one day in our home and it was the perfect time to
take this shot. It's always uncomfortable in the darkness. It's tiring and
burdensome. Just like when we hide our true selves from others,
keep up a front, wear masks. It is better to be honest, to live in the light,
admitting our flaws and weaknesses so God can work and others can
support us in our journey.
Last but not the least is this quote that caught my fancy. Audrey Hepburn is a
picture of elegance and style. She exuded true beauty that came from within.
In our Bible Study we talked knowing where our identity comes from, knowing
our worth and who we really are. We are not defined by our talents, looks,
accomplishments, riches... these are all passing. We have an eternal identity
in God and He has called us to be His sons and daughters.
'For in him we live and move and have our being.' (Acts 17:28)
Have a blessed weekend ahead!

I want to be a Good News Girl (instead of a Gossip Girl).
I want to make other people smile and be able to see how good life is.
Today's wisdom for me is from Luke 4:18 when Jesus read in
their church that He was the promised one sent by God to
bring good news to the poor, recover blind people's sight,
let the captives free (one bible version said this meant to heal broken hearts),
and to proclaim a year acceptable to God.
A lot of his friends, neighbors weren't convinced and in fact,
they got uber mad at Him thinking He was a blasphemer!
In short Jesus had a rough day.
Have you ever had a rough day?
Sometimes when we are all set to tutor street children, we get booted
out of our venue. Sometimes volunteers who say they will come
suddenly won't. Sometimes I get to tutor 5 kids and haven't prepared
well for them because I prepared for another grade level.. in short
sometimes I have a rough day as well.
Are you always so convincing?
In years past I was diagnosed with Graves Disease. My full story is here
My hands were shaky, moods erratic, pulse over a hundred, energy zilch.
But to make it short, I got well not with drugs but with good old
fashioned nutritional supplements and a change in lifestyle.
Good friends of mine, still don't believe I am healed.
My hands aren't shaky anymore, my moods are stable,
my pulse is under a hundred and my energy level keeps
getting better and better but still they say "are you sure you're well?".
When I thought about how Jesus just "passed through" the crowd,
then we can do that as well when people are not convinced of our health,
well-being, maybe even our sanity. Jesus has been there and that
is more than enough Good News for me.
