Saint Joseph, Pillar of Families

I didn't use to pray novenas.  I always thought that praying directly to God was better.  But I read this passage from the Bible: "The continual prayer of a just man availeth much." - James 5:16 I thought of the matter more and now I see that novenas are a humble way of praying.  It is asking those closest to Jesus (and holiest) people who walked the earth, to pray for me. This is not a new way of doing things as Moses intervened for the Jews when God wanted to punish them for making a bull with their own hands and started worshipping them. I now think God is pleased whenever I pray a novena.    Since then, I have seen so many SIGNS AND WONDERS in myself and in my circumstances because I prayed a novena.   I credit Saint Joseph for my happy home life and also for helping us with our finances though the best thing for me is the way novenas help us to lead holy lives.  The saints want no applause but rather, they will always draw us closer to God.   Instead of idolizing cel

He is not here, He is Risen!

What a beautiful, glorious day this is when Jesus whose love for us is beyond measure, conquered death and sin!  The joy of His glorious resurrection, no one can dispel!  Jesus has forever changed our lives!

1But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices which they had prepared.

I wonder how it must have felt for the three women coming to honor Jesus' body.  I'm sure they had such heavy hearts and yet they would have thought this was one of the last things they can do out of love for Jesus.
2And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb,
3but when they went in they did not find the body.

Where is Jesus' body?  Where did they move my Lord?  Did someone steal it?
4While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel;

Has anyone so beautiful and bright frightened you enough for you to want to stop looking at them?  Is it because their brilliance was too much to bear?
5and as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead?
6Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee,
7that the Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise."
8And they remembered his words,

How great is God's mercy to send forth His angels to announce Jesus' rising, to comfort His people in their time of mourning!  The angels appeared at Jesus' birth to announce His coming and angels too appear now at His rising and to announce the coming of the resurrected Jesus.
9and returning from the tomb they told all this to the eleven and to all the rest.
10Now it was Mary Mag'dalene and Jo-an'na and Mary the mother of James and the other women with them who told this to the apostles;
11but these words seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them.Luke 24:1-12

Despite our unbelief, Jesus still reveals Himself to us and shows us He is with us in manifold ways.
Why do you seek the living among the dead?

...Then the other disciple, who reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed;

for as yet they did not know the scripture, that he must rise from the dead. John 20:1-9

Oh death where is your sting? Now the tomb is empty.
Oh death where is your victory, now that Jesus lives!

Let us rejoice in our King who has given us the gift of eternal life!  In our place He took our sins of the past, present and future!  He has tore the veil, we can now enter into God's holy presence through Christ's sacrifice!

Praise and thank you Jesus!
