Saint Joseph, Pillar of Families

I didn't use to pray novenas.  I always thought that praying directly to God was better.  But I read this passage from the Bible: "The continual prayer of a just man availeth much." - James 5:16 I thought of the matter more and now I see that novenas are a humble way of praying.  It is asking those closest to Jesus (and holiest) people who walked the earth, to pray for me. This is not a new way of doing things as Moses intervened for the Jews when God wanted to punish them for making a bull with their own hands and started worshipping them. I now think God is pleased whenever I pray a novena.    Since then, I have seen so many SIGNS AND WONDERS in myself and in my circumstances because I prayed a novena.   I credit Saint Joseph for my happy home life and also for helping us with our finances though the best thing for me is the way novenas help us to lead holy lives.  The saints want no applause but rather, they will always draw us closer to God.   Instead of idolizing cel

The Light of Life

Let me tell you.  I am the most indecisive person I know.  Making decisions between something bad and something good is easy but how do you choose between 2 or more good things?  How do you even know which is good?

How do you make decisions?  My husband and I sometimes decide by thinking of the choices in our heads and assigning them as A or B (without telling the other person what it is).  It’s either we watch a movie or take a walk or both?  Then it is A, B or C.

We have fun doing this and sometimes you need to make a choice to see how you feel about it.  For silly things like this, the A or B system works fine but what if someone needed to decide on what job to take, where to invest your money, who to marry?  What then?

Oftentimes we do not know our motivations, especially when we don’t know ourselves.  Sometimes we decide based on what others will say, what will look good, if it’s risk-free, or solely on how it will make me feel.

Wouldn’t it be great if there was someone who knew us better than we knew ourselves?  Someone who knew the future? Someone who loved us to death? And that someone was just waiting for us to ask Him what to do?

We live in a dark, divided world but the light of life is within reach!  God’s ways are sometimes difficult to fathom but when we trust Him, Christ our light leads the way!
